A midwesterner by birth, Levie studied at Beloit College and The Philadelphia College of Art/University of the Arts earning her B.F.A. and earned her M.F.A. at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

Concurrent with her graduate work at SAIC, Levie studied voice, piano, and music theory. This led to mostly A cappella singing gigs in many popular Chicago night clubs, bars, and performance spots.

Levie teaches photography at Columbia College Chicago. She has taught at numerous colleges including The Milwaukee Institute of Art. Countless photographs have been exhibited in galleries, and published in traditional print, book, and electronic media.  Her work is in private and museum collections including The Art Institute of Chicago.

For her company "Art Alive Programming,"  Levie produces, researches, and narrates PowerPoint presentations to senior residential, community memory care centers in the Chicago, Illinois and Palm Beach Gardens, Florida areas. The program topics include artists and their artwork, museums, palaces, and botanic gardens.
