Art Alive Programming   Available in the Chicago, Il. and the Palm Beach Gardens, Florida areas   Art Alive Programming is a series of PowerPoint programs on Artists and their Work, Museums from Around the WorldBotanic Gardens, and Great Homes and Palaces. Working with senior adult residential, memory care, and community centers, the programs which I research, produce, develop and deliver, have been enthustically received.  Some of the Illinois communities include The ClareBrookdale Lake Shore Drive, The Breakers, SedgebrookSelfHelp HomeThe Patty Turner Center, and North Shore Place.   In Florida, I work at Atria at St.Joseph's in Jupiter, Brookdale Palm Beach Gardens, MorseLife  in West Palm Beach, and the Allegro Communities.  The Draw Like an Artist  program has residents looking at artwork and drawing the artwork. Also conduct private tours of area museums to senior groups.

United States Government, Dept. of Interior, National Park Service, Independence National Historical Park   Philadelphia, Pa. Park Ranger  Acted as district supervisor, researched, designed, and presented to school groups and the public formal and informal tours of 18th Century themed buildings including Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell Site, and Franklin Court Museum.  Served as Safety Inspector for Independence Hall, Congress Hall, and the Supreme Court Building.  I photographed and catalogued hundreds of park signage markers in the 55 acres of this National Park in the city of Philadelphia.

Beloit College, Gallery 38-A and The Corner  Beloit, Wi.   I was responsiible for and curated student art work exhibited at the college spaces where photography work was displayed. Installed and de-installed art work, wrote press releases and gallery signage, organized gallery openings, took out the garbage, and swept the floors.

Chicago Historical Society   Chicago Summer Intern  Photography Division   I assisted in curating exhibits, organized and catalogued photography collections, and provided informal tours of museum to summer camp and school groups.

Boston Children's Museum   Boston, Ma.  Interpreter   Cared for warm and cold blooded animals in the Living Things section of the museum. I provided tours to school groups, families, and created and developed programs for special needs children.

 

Teaching Positions

1995 to current    Columbia College Chicago   Adjunct Faculty     Teach:  Beginning Black and White photographyDarkroom Dynamics                  Provide instruction in film and darkroom camera use, processing film, printing contact sheets and negatives, alternative printing, experimental and collage methods, and presentation of work.  Work the equipment cage, set up darkroom chemistry. Conduct all demos., assign quizes and read papers, deliver DVD, PowerPoint, and slide presentations, lead individual and group critiques. I record attendance and grades, and write recommendtion letters for students. Served as coordinator for annual freshmen photo. show. Supervised dozens of class visits to museums, galleries, and art spaces for Photo. in Chicago Now!  Served on under and graduate critique panels. Taught screen based digital photography class using Lightroom.   Have taught Color Photography, Experimental Techniques, and Digital 1. Worked student registration.  Taught in the High School Summer Institute program for 17 summers.

2006 to 2009    College of Lake County, Grayslake, Il.     Adjunct Taught beginning black and white photography. 1994 to 2005     McHenry County College, Crystal Lake, Il.    Adjunct    Taught beginning and independent studies of black and white photography. See Columbia College Chicago for identical classroom responsibilities.

1997 to 1999     Harold Washington College, Chicago   Lecturer in Art    Taught beginning, advanced, independent studies, and continuing education classes of black and white photo.  Substitute lecturer for numerous art history and studio art classes. See Columbia College Chicago for identical classroom responsibilities.

1996 to 1997    Moraine Valley Community College, Palos Hills, Il.   Photography Instructor   Taught black and white photo. to beginners and advanced students.  See Columbia College Chicago for identical classroom responsibilities.  

1992 to 1993      Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, Milwaukee, Wi.   Photography Instructor Responsible for teaching beginning college level introductory skills of black and white photo.
